The federal government has approved a major economic relief package in the situation of the Coronavirus, under which Rs 3,000 a month will be provided to 70 million daily wagers.
In Islamabad, the economic team of the government headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan attended the meeting, in which the economic relief package was approved by the Prime Minister.
According to sources, it was decided that Rs. 3,000 will be given monthly to 70 lakh daily wagers across the country while a relief package of Rs 200 billion has been approved for the exporters.
Sources say that Prime Minister Imran Khan will announce a relief package for the construction industry as well.
Earlier, representatives of welfare organizations and philanthropists met Prime Minister Imran Khan. Federal Minister for Food Security Khusro Bakhtiar, Special Assistant for Social Security and Poverty Alleviation Dr Saniya Nishtar and Finance Ministry officials were also present.
According to sources, food security strategies were considered for poor citizens and plans were discussed to provide relief on the purchase of rations for the welfare agencies.
Sources said that the meeting also considered giving more relief to utility stores for the purchase of necessities while joint relief operations were also discussed in areas affected by Corona.
