Meeting of National Coordinating Committee chaired by PM Khan

A meeting of the National Coordination Committee was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in which important decisions were made regarding the Coronavirus.

Federal Ministers, four Chief Ministers, Special Assistants and Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) attended the National Coordination Committee meeting held in Islamabad via video link.

The participants of the meeting were briefed by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Health Dr. Zafar Mirza on the current status of the CCoronavirusin the country.

The meeting also briefed on the economic package and the impact on the domestic economy in view of the lockdown, while in the country there was discussion of a soft or complete curfew in lockdown.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that in the difficult times, the people will not be left alone and will compete with Corona as a nation. He said that relief will be provided to the working class and will meet the needs of all the provinces.

In the meeting, it was decided to restrict Panjgana and Friday prayers given the situation of Coronavirus, while the rally preaching gatherings were also canceled.

The National Coordinating Committee meeting decided that the government will shut down educational institutions nationwide till May 31st. It was informed at the meeting that Pakistan had canceled the progress on Hajj contracts in the direction of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Zafar Mirza said at a briefing that 30,000 health workers would be provided with safety kits by April 5, while 5,000 health workers are being trained to deal with Corona.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the appointment of infection specialist Dr. Faisal Sultan as his focal person.
