In an audio message posted on social media by former banned Tehreek-e-Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan claimed about escaping from government custody. Government sources have made it clear that Ehsanullah Ehsan has voluntarily surrendered himself under an agreement.
In an audio message released on social media, former TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan claimed that he was no longer in government custody and escaped. On the other hand, Government sources clarified that Ehsanullah Ehsan had voluntarily surrendered on February 5, 2017.
After surrendering, no information about him was disclosed. In a TV interview after the surrender, he made several confessions. Ehsanullah Ehsan has already claimed to have carried out massive acts of terrorism in Pakistan before surrendering.
When the BBC contacted the Pakistan Army’s Public Relations to respond on the claim made in this alleged audio message, military sources did not confirm or deny the claim and said they’re not allowed to comment on the matter.
It should be noted that last month, the Indian newspaper published the same news, after which there was no denial or confirmation by the responsible authorities. It is said that Tehreek-e-Taliban had accepted the responsibilty of attacking Malala Yousafzai.
